Locks of Love!

We heard about it from friends,
we saw other bloggy friends do it and
then Johnny's best buddy got cancer.
Once Sarah understood what it was, she wanted to do it!

She has been after me to make the appointment.
I stalled- I'm a long hair person.
Hubby questioned if we should do it- he's a long hair person, too.
But Sarah insisted!
Big Sis Kate encouraged!

Hair grows and my attachment to it was silly.

They would never let her have long hair in the orphanage.
They hacked it off frequently. Sarah's dream was to be free to have long hair- hair the way she wanted it!
She did it and then gave it away to a wonderful charity!

I am so proud of her!!

It was an event for all of us!
Now the other girls are thinking about it when their hair grows longer!

They cut 3 12" braids!

Ava has awhile!

Now the best part!! The shampoo!!

The cut and style!
(she loves the pampering)

She was very happy with the results!

And now... we'll grow it out again!

We just bobbed Mylee's hair too. Hubby wasn't thrilled, but it will grow back. Love the look on Sarah, she looks so grown up now (probably not something you want to hear).

Being a cancer survivor!!! AMEN!!! I have given many many many times and will as long as they accept my hair :) LOVE that others will have hair at a time when they don't have a lot else......

Dear Sweet Sarah ~ You are going to make another young girl very happy! Did you know that they not only use the hair for cancer patients, but for other illnesses that cause hair loss? Sometimes girls lose their hair permanently, so they have special wigs/hair pieces that will be their hair for a long time. I think it may be more difficult to find beautiful Asian hair in the United States, so your hair will likely be made into a wig for another Asian girl! That is so special, just like YOU! And, your new haircut is gorgeous! I'm proud of you! ~ Jo

Oh, oh, oh! It's DARLING!

I do know what you mean though...long hair is so gorgeous and fun. But I gotta tell ya, nobody rocks a cute bob like an adorable Chinese girl.

And the cause...well, that's just priceless!!

Precious Sarah - Bless her heart !! What a beautiful thing to do. And of course, she is just as beautiful with shorter hair, as she was with long hair. She is so adorable. I just love the pictures of the kids watching the events in the beauty salon, so darling of all of them. Tell Sarah thank you for helping someone else in a very big way. That is just the sweetest. xoxoxo

AWWW!! Good for her! I know how you feel though Jean! I struggled with getting Lizzie's hair cut for the same reason! Right before we got her, I mean right before, they shaved her head:( However, I LOVE the new "do" and I LOVE Sarah's too! She looks so grown up and so beautiful!!!

Thanks for spreading the word (and shopping) for the Tupperware fundraiser!!!
