He's Home!!

We are so happy to have him/ them home!
(Luke and Daddy)

The welcoming crew was excited and had been waiting for them to arrive for awhile!

This is how we have to carry him.

Luke got a cookie bouquet from Hubby's work!

And a monkey and balloon from the family!
Yes, he still has the betadine stains on his face from the surgery.
We'll get him cleaned up later today!
For now we are just rejoicing!

I am a little nervous for this part of the recovery.
Sometimes our littles move in a herd like fashion and occasionally one falls and... gets steps on...

I'm always reminding them to watch where they are going.
We will need to watch him closely and give pain meds (he's only on tylenol- so amazing).

All the children where so excited to pick out their own cookie!

Right now he is chattering away and

showing us all his bandaids and

licking the frosting off his cookie!

Welcome home,

sweet boy!

Amazing how quickly they recover! Doesn't even look like he had surgery! Thanking God that everyone is home now.

I am amazed at how well little Luke has done. I'm also following another sweet baby and she stayed on the vent nearly a week. The contrast is unbelievable! Praising God for his healing touch in both lives! God is good.

If you have any tips on how to get that betadine off, let me know. Elaina's had to WEAR off. We scrubbed to no didn't work! Did the Dr's tell you to strap him in with a pillow so as not to cause damage to his broken sternum while it heals in case you have to stop suddenly? We have to do that for 2 months!
Also, not sure what your doc said, but ours switched us right away from tylenol to motrin. Motrin is anti-inflammatory and can prevent the fluid in the pericardium area that Elaina is still struggling with post op. Elaina is on 7mls every 8 hours...going on 2 weeks now. Just something to ask at his check up. I'm sure surrounded by siblings he is going to recover so quickly :) blessings, Holly
