What's really bugging me!

It's the boxelder bugs!!

I really don't like bugs of any kind!
But I especially don't like these bugs because these little critters are all over the house AND they are making their way inside...

We find about 50 plus a day inside...

The laundry room seems to be the point of entrance.
I am guessing through the dryer vents?

The pest control people cam today and sprayed for a second time.

Plus I have my own exterminator team!

They report to me throughout the day how many they have found.

I think they are enjoying themselves!

So thankful there is no audio with these pics!
Because it would be of me screaming!

He is such a climber, they don't stand a chance against him!

Thank you Ellie and Sam!

For a job well done!

We have love bugs here in NE Florida and SE Georgia. They are everywhere for about 3-6 weeks in the spring and fall. They are so toxic, they have no natural predator...birds will not even eat them. If you do not scrub them off the front of your vehicles they will eat off the paint. I just love scrubbing bug guts off my car...

Oh my! Those boxelder bugs sure can overtake a place! But, at least they aren't around for too long...especially in MN...pretty soon you'll have snow!!

I don't know much about these bugs as we get swarms of lady bugs up here and I do know that Lady Bugs are usually attracted to white. you don't usually see them attached en mass to dark colored buildings

Wow - I don't know about those bugs (NEVER want to either). Our issue here in Virginia are the stinkbugs!!! They are terrible. They are new to our area (actually got here from Asia!). There are no known predators or pesticides so they just keep multiplying. They are everywhere and get in the house, well, I just don't know how but they do...If they get scared or you squish them on your skin they let off a horrible smell that once on your skin - does not wash off (unless you rub your skin with a lemon!). I am a bug hater too so am looking forward to the cold - hoping that we will see less of them then. Good luck with yours!

Afraid it's that time of year. Just noticed the box elders on our porch yesterday, and I'm sure it won't be long before some of them make their way into our house here in northeastern Kansas. What I find even worse are army worms-UGH!-which stink horribly when you vacuum them up.

I HATE boxelder bugs. They are awful. They congregate on my garage door because it faces south. Then they get in the garage and then into the car. YUCK! Makes you wish for the first snowfall!

Jean,
It is great training for living overseas:) We just got TA and hope to leave Oct. 24th. Can you tell me what to expect weather wise in Henan in late Oct. early Nov?
Thanks,
Sarah

I hear you, Jean! I live in Albert Lea and they are here, too. Yuck! I have noticed that those orange lady-buggish things haven't come this year. Those usually come around the same time as the box elder bugs.

I think today will be one of our last Indian Summer days for this year (although you never know in MN.!!). We're supposed to be down in the 20's on Thursday night, so hopefully with a good freeze, they'll be gone. YaY! Hugs ~ Jo

Be glad you are not in Texas. We have black widows and brown recluses here. You would worry yourself sick with all the kids. Sunday we found a wolf spider so big I did not know if I should shoot it or put a saddle on it and go for a ride.

Ugh- boxelder bugs- we have them all over our house too. Too funny, I was thinking about posting about them today too:)

We use to have them in the house horribly, too! We had the boxelder tree cut down and that solved the problem immediately! Our neighbors were quite appreciative!
