The difference is...

It never melts...

At least not until April...

It's very pretty!

but nothing is cancelled...
We're used to it and we have the equipment to deal with it...

I wish everything would be cancelled and we could have some great family time instead of trudging through this mess...

We didn't have as much snow as you did BUT your snow will melt...
pretty soon...

We stayed home on Monday (but only because I cancelled my colonoscopy). Otherwise we would have been expected to be there... in this weather... on time...

The icicle in the middle was about 4-5 feet long. We have a steep roof and many ice jams... The Christmas lights are frozen into the gutter...

So if very soon I post from Florida.. I'm guessin you'll understand!

LOVE the pics! I'm still in awe of your sparkly clean windows. The snow is beautiful! But, I'm with you on the Florida idea. I'm ready for warm weather!!

But hey, it got you out of your colonoscopy so it's not all that bad, huh?

LOL. We are here in the DC area with everything closed:-) It took days for some of the streets to be plowed. I agree... no one here is prepared for what you deal with every year. I am betting you have a snow blower. If not, how do you do it? FWIW, I love the snow! It is beautiful. It probably helps that we homeschool so we don't have anywhere to go:) My sweet dh has been working from home all week. I just don't like how it looks after it has been scraped up from the streets.

Wow! We were amazed at our 8 inches of snow in Central Arkansas this week. It shut our city down for 3 days! ha! Or course, our city believes the only way to clear snow/ice of the roads is to wait for it to melt. =) I can't imagine having to live with your amount of snow and life go on as normal! Wow!

Did you know that Maryland used up its entire snow removal budget during our big storm the week of Christmas? That was four snow storms and about 55 inches ago. We just don't have the same resources. Heh.

UGH!!!! We haven't had anything canceled yet either--our snowplows are far too efficient. I'm with you...get me to Florida! :)

Jean,

Your pictures are so pretty. Makes snow more bearable! Thanks for your sweet comments on our blog while we were in China. We are back and settling in, dealing with some bonding issues, and loving having three sons! God is good.

Hugs,
Janet
