This fall, we had 7 High Schoolers in Cross Country!
And now, we have even more fans watching the meets
and cheering them on!
Our grands are in the same school district as us!
Love these new fans so much!
They add an extra amount of cuteness on the sidelines!
We homeschool most of our kids (12)!
Three go to the local public school-
two are in the transition program and one is in middle school.
Plus, two of our homeschoolers go the the HS for a Mandarin class.
We LOVE homeschooling but we are also so thankful
to live in a great school district!
Our kids have met so many nice high school teens!
Melissa ran Varsity most of the season.
She competed in the conference meet but not sections.
She earned a letter in Cross Country this year!
Sam ran on Varsity (a few times)
and Jr Varsity (most of the time).
The Boys Cross Country team ended up 4th in the state!
It was a great season for them!
Ava worked really hard and did a great job!
She improved her times by 5 minutes!
We are so proud of how hard she worked!
Madeline had a great season and improved her time, also!
Anna is a natural runner!
She has always been a bit of an energizer bunny!
Just keeps going!
Cheering Melissa on to the finish line!
Hubby was so happy with his tomato plants!
The kids replanted them in larger pots!
FYI- It's September everyone!
The tomato yield will be small at this point..
(I think we got one more tomato out of them- haha)
Oh well, there's always next year!
Early September is a perfect time for a cookout!
Hello Belle!
You're facing the wrong way!
I gave her a haircut and I'm guessing she's not fond of it?
They LOVE cooking their own food
and ours!
It's a win/win!
Our kiddos and our grands have so much energy!
It's a good thing because
sometimes the grandparents...
don't!
Pickle in the middle!
Visiting while the kids play around us!
An exciting game of bags!
Abby and Mary
versus
Grace and Madeline!
This would be freeze tag...
except someone is not quite understanding the rules
of freeze tag!
Run children, run
and sleep well at night!
Get out of the way bros!
We are trying to play bags!
Enjoy sweet girl!
You must be exhausted!
First Day of Mandarin class at the local HS!
We pick them up after class and they do their homeschool classes
once they get home!
They love Mandarin class but compared to homeschooling
they can't believe how SLOW
they are moving through the book...
They plan to do Mandarin 2 this summer
and then go into Mandarin 3 next fall.
These two beauties (Emma and Ellie)
are in their last year of transitions class.
They are doing very well and learning
how to manage life post high school.
We are guardians for both of the girls.
We are so thankful that the bus picks them up right at our front door!
It is part of their IEP.
Joe is really growing up!
He is 13 yrs old, in middle school and loving it!
And so...
I was left with these hooligans,
once the others went to school!
I am missing Jake!
We were going to send him to school
BUT
after much thought and prayer
we decided to continue homeschooling him!
He is doing well at home and we are happy with our choice!
Working together!
Practicing ASL at a transfusion!
We have 9 teens in ASL and they are loving the class!
loving this!
Such a joy to see them get on the bus!
Nothing like a Ben and Jerry's ice cream cone
while at a local festival!
This group stayed with us while other paired up
and went off on their own!
We found a few stragglers!
Some kids joined up with us for a short while
and others pretended they never saw us!
It was funny and they were joking!
"I'm sorry, do I know you?"
The local scouts had a fun archery booth at the festival!
On a few Saturday mornings,
Hubby and I picked up a coffee and watches
d this cutie play soccer!
What a gift to be able to do this!
It was the perfect fall weather this year
and being outside in it, was delightful!
No better way to wake up, than to this sweet face!
Good Morning Nana and Papa, it's time to get up!
Nana and Papa love to sleep in!
More September fun on the next post!
